Your Happiness is in Your Own Hands

There are two kinds of people in the world. People who pretend to be happy and then people who choose to be happy. Every day I wake up and I make a choice whether or not I’m going to be happy. That includes making the best of every situation and doing things that are positively affecting my body. It does take a lot of work though. So while I’m not pretending, I am still making a conscience choice every morning. Making that choice can take a lot out of you. I’m not saying it’s easy. That’s not to say that you can’t have bad days. Every once in a while you need to let yourself cry or feel bad for yourself because life can suck. But as my mom always says “you just can’t live there”. My point is, don’t pretend, actively do little things everyday that make you smile. Focus on those things and eventually your mindset with change. You will no longer pretend. You will be. Your life doesn’t have to be perfect for you to be happy. Yes everyone goes through rough patches. It’s okay to be sad. It’s okay to cry. It’s okay to be angry. You should feel those things and then free them from your mind and move on. It’s not about never having negative emotions, it’s about choosing the positive ones. I promise if you try it for long enough, it will change your life.
