Squat is such a fundamental exercise of any discipline and yet so done incorrectly. The key things to focus on is-
1. Form & technique
2. Depth & range of motion
3. Stability and muscle recruitment
4. Then comes load (weight).

スクワットと腕立て

腕立てがまだ回数増やすのきつくて前のメニューもっかいやりました。前と同じメニューだけど肩のあたりパンパンに張ってる感じします。スクワットはガンガン回数増やして良さげ。

☀️Positivity Sunday☀️

@fitchris25 @fitteacherlife @purplenickel have inspired me to do a positivity Sunday which is such an amazing thing! Sunday is the transition between one week and another. It’s a time to say “time to step it up” “time to start fresh”. It’s also a time to reflect on the previous week. Here’s my week in review:

  • Worked out 5 times this week (4th week in a row working out a minimum of 4 times)
  • Did box jumps for the first time! (This was a big one for me)
  • Purchased oat milk! Excited to try this as it uses waaaay less water to produce than almond milk and it’s supposed to be tasty as heck
  • Started to see baby abs⚡️
  • Noticed that my form when doing push-ups has become significantly better
  • Burnt the most calories during a HIIT workout ever (649 active, 757 total)
  • Got a new high SR for the season in Overwatch 😂 totally not health related buuut I’m proud so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

When attempting to do the last few reps (we call@this the golden reps) where you go beyond your own comfort level and push the body to do forced reps a spotter is SO important because you have a safety net. Spotting someone to life more is such a crucial science and an art. It’s like holding a toddlers finger just enough to help them take a few more steps.

Excuse the fat arse, I turned the sound off because you could hear it slap the box hahahahaha. Anyway, I’ve got two pieces or great news to share:
.
1: apparently I don’t care if people see me taking videos at the gym anymore.
.
2: I started doing squats tapping the box a few months ago with just body weight. It was tough. I tried to do it with the 20kg bar a few weeks ago and got nowhere near tapping it. Tried it today and look at me go! Regret not trying 22.5kg, but there’s always next week. I love seeing progress 😍
