After a feedback session with Chris on monday, I was told that my website’s home image needd to be refined and that the use of my visual mark was too “in your face”. My aim was to create a simplistic landscape of my hometown, but upon further examination, I found that it was very chunky and didn’t really look like a small town. I then started thinking about how i could redesign this, so i took to my sketchbook and I planned out a new sketch for the background and then moved on to digitalisation. As I reached the digitalisation stage however, I found that some aspects to the right hand side of my drawing just didn’t work and since i was working with only 4 shades of orange in my colour scheme, I had to carefully consider how everything would fit together. The second image is the final product of this work, and shows a more detailed bridge, some redesigned foliage and a more 3-D looking landscape design, making the church spires a more integrated part of the background instead of something which sticks out too much.

My master apprentice task (my work is the bottom image). This week we are looking at diagrams and how they can be used in interaction design. For our task this week we were asked to replicate some basic diagrams- two pie charts, a bar chart and a line graph using simple shapes and vectors.
