for…of loop explained 📘
-
for..of is a method, introduced in ES2015, for iterating over “iterable collections”. Under the hood, it is a wrapper around the [Symbol.iterator] to create loops. -
1) for..of and Objects - Does not work
Because they are not “iterable”, and don’t have a [Symbol.iterator] property.

2) for..of and Arrays/Strings -great
This is a reliable way of looping through an Array/String in order.

3) for..of and NodeLists
When we query the DOM for a group of elements, what we get back a NodeList, so we can’t iterate over it with forEach. Using for…of solves this issue.

#javascript for..in loop explained 📕
-
is a method for iterating over “enumerable” properties of an object. Iteration happens in an arbitrary order. Therefore, it should not be used if things need to happen in their defined sequence.

1) for..in and Objects
for..in is the most straightforward way to loop over Object keys and values, since Objects do not have access to “forEach”.
-
2) for..in and Arrays - possible but not advised
The “key” for values in an Array are the numerical indexes, so you could loop over all values. But not advised because it’s not guaranteed that it happens in sequence.
-
3) for..in and Strings - possible but not advised
Each character in a string has an index, so you could loop over these enumerable properties.
