  • Tag some recruiters in my network.

5 seconds?

You know what it does?

It shows that persons post to 100x the audience.

This massively increasing their chances of getting hired.

Pay it forward. Engage on all cylinders. No-one is even asking you for a reference. A few clicks and you’re potentially changing someone’s life. That’s some powerful stuff.

If you’re on LinkedIn and you’re using it to look for a job… start using it properly! It’s hard enough to get noticed in the vast sea of applicants for job postings when your not using your profile properly and it looks noticeable worse than the rest.

LinkedIn is the new resume. It’s where customers, employers and recruiters all go to see who you are. Regardless of why you’re using it – here are my top 9 ways to maximize your LinkedIn profile’s effectiveness.

  1. Have a picture!
  2. Customize your URL (linkedin.com/in/yournamehere).
  3. Write a crisp, catchy career summary – you’re selling yourself!
  4. Fill out the experience section.
  5. List your skills. both technical and non technical.
  6. Ask for recommendations from peers and colleagues.
  7. Add portfolios or websites that showcase your work.
  8. Connect & network.
  9. Comment, interact and engage with your network.

These items are the ABSOLUTE minimum for effectively using LinkedIn. If you need help understanding how to use it, message me or one of the hundreds of people that offer this as a paid service. With enough research you should be able to figure it out yourself… just invest the time!

Although this won’t guarantee you a job, this will put you on even grounds with other applicants, and ahead of most profiles I see.

One of my work besties is leaving the company for a new opportunity, and her last day is tomorrow. I’m sad for me, but happy for her.

We leave for campus recruiting tomorrow and I’ve got all kinds of nervous energy. There are always a million little things to do leading up to next week, but I’m feeling pretty ready.

Transition to my new role is underway, but it’s not going to feel really real until I get back from campus. I do have people “officially” reporting to me now in our HR system which is mostly very exciting.

The Suiren Temple <<-Ren->> is an Eastern-themed shrine with influences coming from Shinto, Taoism, and Buddhist practices, while splashing in that FFXIV lore flavor as well. This - however - does not limit the type of characters that can join. We accept everyone, except those with ill intentions. That doesn’t mean a bad person couldn’t slip through! We are also open to the more exotic flavor of characters, such as yokai/spirits/etc, but within reason.

As of now we are still a small FC, and focus strongly on quality and character driven story lines as opposed to a large and long running FC plots. The reason? We want the stories to be short, and easy for people to integrate into while building lasting character to character relationships. The leadership and members are completely dedicated to helping members build their characters and progress in the game. New RP’ers are welcome, and we’re always happy to help them learn and grow!In addition to this we have:

  • A weekly RP schedule of Shrine lessons for members as well as games and socials
  • Open RP rituals that occur monthly and are open to all members
  • Simple yet customizable combat system
  • Open contract board for character/FC story arcs
  • Weekly writing prompts
  • Medium Sized Estate in Shirogane; buffs always active
    • Request buffs too! We default to Teleport Discounts and Battle Exp Buffs.
  • RP sites that are not the Temple:
    • Atelier Torioi – Apothecary and Clinic in the Lavender Beds.
    • Ritsuka Aoki’s Flower Shop, The Primrose – Located in Shirogane down the street from the FC house.

Situated just south of Nazjatar, the Dusk Isles were once a small religious community south of Zin-Azshari – until the seas came to swallow them all. Now, with the shifting of the waves at the behest of the Tidestone and Queen Azshara, these islands have surfaced and with them, all of their secrets.

The Warchief has ordered Blackheart Warband to explore the Isles and bring back to her an object of considerable power. Commonly called the Chalice of Whispers, not much is known about the artifact aside from the fact that it radiates magic like a beacon. Surely others will be drawn to the same beacon. It’s only a question of who will find it first: the Horde, the Alliance, or someone else?


<Blackheart Warband> is a Horde military RP guild on Wyrmrest Accord which features events 1-2 times a week, and overarching campaigns. Our guild focuses on protecting the Horde and its people and interests no matter the cost. We have distinct units that showcase a range of character talents, and a d20 system which provides unique bonuses that players can craft themselves to give an individual feel to every character.
