if i had the chance, i’d never let you go
HE’S ALWAYS BEEN CAREFUL ABOUT LEAVING HER SIDE when he’s the first one up in the morning. the last thing he wants is for her to think he’s left her, abandoned her. when he’s awake, there’s always a soft kiss placed against her lips, her cheek, her forehead. he pulls the hair away from her face and admires her for a long moment before pulling himself out of bed and tucking her in, taking care to leave his phone on the nightstand so that she knows he’s never far. he just doesn’t have it in him to lay in bed until she wakes… fidgeter. he needs to be able to do something.
when she finds him, she’s bleary eyed and fresh out of bed and he’s still in just his pajama pants, back leaned against the counter with a bowl of cereal in his hands as he watched her with a smile pulling warm to his lips. a soft laugh at her words and he sets the bowl on the counter beside of him, reaching out to grab her by the hips and pull her softly against him. lips press against her forehead and he lets his arms move to drape over her shoulders before a yawn escapes him and he gives her an award winning smile. “good morning to you too, gorgeous.” a chuckle and his lips find hers for a soft kiss. “you’ve got the chance, har. you never have to let me go. unless you want to. but i’m really hoping you’re never gonna want to.”
