Giving a detailed description of the qualities of a Vaishnava, Lord Mahadeva told Narada:

A person who has total devotion in Lord Vishnu is called a Vaishnava. He is truthful, kind and forgiving by nature. He engages himself in austere penance and refrains from any kind of violence. He wears a Tulsi bead in his neck and puts on tilak. He is well versed in sacred text like the Vedas, Puranas etc. The mere sight of a Vaishnava is enough to liberate a sinner from all his sins. Feeding a Vaishnava bestowes virtue equivalent to feeding thousands of ordinary brahmins.

- Padma Purana

Pure Land Buddhism and Gnostic Christianity

Gnostic Christianity was once the main form of Christianity found in the Roman Empire. It’s is now a dead tradition after being declared a heresy and banned by the Roman Emperor.

Gnosticism basically believed that all living livings had a spiritual Soul that was trapped inside the material body and the material world. In a way they believed everyone was actually an angel, trapped in a human body.

Gnostics believed Jesus was a manifestation of the spiritual God, or Heavenly Father, who had come to Earth to liberated the trapped souls and lead them back to the spiritual heaven.

Salvation came from Spiritual knowledge not works. The enlightened realisation that the true ‘us’ is not the body.

They also believed that Yahweh was a lesser, inferior God who had created the material world and was trying to keep souls trapped in the material realm.

In many ways this is similar to Pure Land Buddhism and Hare Krishna Hinduism (Vaishnavism).

In Buddhism this samsaric realm is an unreal place of Suffering and the body is Anatta, not-self. By chanting the name of Amida Buddha, we become mindful of our own divine Buddha-nature and are reborn in the spiritual reality of the Pure Land.

Very similarly, Vaishnavas believe by chanting the Holy names of Krishna a devotee can realise their true Self and end the cycle of rebirth, returning to spiritual realm to be with Lord Krishna.

God is not Formless and he didn’t allow anyone to eat meat. It is written in Genesis Holy Bible that God created the everything in 6 days and rested on His eternal throne on the 7th day. After that it was Kaal/Brahm who ordered to eat meat in the bible to misguide everyone.

Persons who constantly direct their lust, anger, fear, protective affection, feeling of impersonal oneness or friendship toward Lord Hari are sure to become absorbed in thought of Him. You should not be so astonished by Kṛṣṇa, the unborn master of all masters of mystic power, the Supreme Personality of Godhead. After all, it is the Lord who liberates this world.

- Srimad Bhagavatam 10.29.15-16

“Even the intelligent

are bewildered in determining what is action and what is inaction. Now I shall explain to you what action is, knowing which you shall be liberated from all misfortune.

The intricacies of action are very hard to understand. Therefore one should know properly what action is, what forbidden action is, and what inaction is.

One who sees inaction in action, and action in inaction, is intelligent among men, and he is in the transcendental position, although engaged in all sorts of activities.

One is understood to be in full knowledge whose every endeavor is devoid of desire for sense gratification. He is said by sages to be a worker for whom the reactions of work have been burned up by the fire of perfect knowledge.”

—Bhagavad Gita 4:16-19

—  Bhagavad Gita, Cap. 4, Textos 5 - 9.
