I quit working here. Some notable things about this job:
The owner would book, consistently, biting dogs. I dont mean nippy- i mean full on trying to fucking take your hand off.
The owner would not let you use muzzles, even though there were some available. Its “inhumane” - instead, stress the dog out even more by having multiple people wrestling with/restraining it.
The only time i ever did use a muzzle was when the owner was not there. The dog was extremely aggressive and still tried to bite through the muzzle.
Ive worked two different weeks completely by myself (as a bather, bathing dogs for two groomers) and the owner would bring in MORE dogs that weren’t on the schedule. Then complain about how slow i was. I wish i had more photos of the dog chart but they were lost to sc
She would also tell me to do something, then complain about it later. For example, telling me that a dog was good, to stop brushing/combing it and put it in the bath. The dog would then be revealed to be covered in matts, which i would then be blamed for.
The top photos are of a husky puppy’s bites/tooth scrapes on my arm. It was supposed to be a deshed. I refused and she later made me help her (the owner) wash her. Which ended up with more scratches to my arm from her puppy claws.
The next two are of a dog with a nasty infection in its eyes which she booked anyways. It stunk and its eyes were sealed shut. Supposedly the owner was going to take it to the vet the next day. I doubt that. I wore gloves as my heart broke for him.
The next photo is of another dog where the owner simply didnt give a shit about the dogs maintenance or general well being.
And in general, this woman never had anything good to say about any of the work i did. Everything was always wrong.
Upon complaining about how slow i was, (which when every fucking dog i have to do is curly and needs to be fluffed, OBVIOUSLY im not going to take a couple minutes to dry it,) she said - and i quote- “its costing [me] money”
OH BONUS POINTS
She kept two cats and a rabbit in kennels inside the shop. They were fed and watered every day but RARELY saw attention. And thats only if i had a minute of free time to sneak away and pet them. They lived there. They free roamed at night and had filthy fur. I had to clean cat feces and urine from the bathing room. Every. Single. Morning. One would desperately meow for attention during the day and my heart ached for her.
