It’s too common to become ill while you travel. You are eating food and drinking water you are not used to, and your schedule changes quite a bit. Here are 3 tips to feel your best during your travels.










Whole grains are generally higher in fiber and a variety of vitamins and minerals that make them a healthier choice than refined grains. Corn tortillas are also, typically, much smaller than flour tortillas.

For many people, a minimum of 5 portions of fruits and vegetables per day is recommended, which also ensures that you get enough fiber. Fiber is important to avoid constipation, which may have a negative impact on your bladder health.



















Healthy Homemade Pesto [3 Ingredients] 2 servings 3 Tbsp Extra virgin olive oil 4 c. Basil Salt and pepper to taste Put basil and olive oil in food processor. Add salt and pepper to taste. Blend until creamy.

Can you share the recipe for the chickpea salad please 😊 it looks wonderful!

Hey there, I’m glad you want to try it out! This recipe is super simple to prepare and keeps well in the fridge. Let me know how you like it!

Ingredients:

- 2 Tbsp grapeseed oil (or any other neutral oil)

- 1 cp onion, finely chopped

- 2 cloves garlic, minced

- 30 oz. Chickpeas (2 regular 15oz cans), drained and rinsed

- 1 Tbsp cumin

- 2 tsp coriander

- The tiniest pinch of cayenne

- Fresh cilantro (you can go for parsley if you prefer)

- 2 Tbsp lemon juice

- salt and pepper

Method:

1) Heat the oil in a pan on the stovetop, add onions and stir periodically until aromatic, then add minced garlic. Continue cooking until onions are translucent.

2) Add spices, mix to combine.

3) Add chickpeas, and continue cooking for about 5 minutes or so to blend flavors.

4) Take off of heat, add lemon juice amd salt and pepper to taste, stir to combine, then mash chickpeas to desired consistency. (You can leave them as is, go for completely smooth, or somewhere in the middle! Up to you)

5) If serving immediately, finely chop cilantro (or parsley) and mix in to chickpeas. If storing for later, it’s best to add in your fresh herbs right before eating

6) Time to eat! I love this recipe in wraps, on sandwiches, with a side of rice, whatever! Fresh avocado makes a great companion.

Best place to get health food products in Toronto is Healthy Planet.

2nd place goes to Whole Foods for their variety. Don’t be ripped off by smaller health food stores.

Prime example is me being on the search for Maqui Berry powder. Healthy Planet had run out again and so I searched EVERY store I could. Well I finally found a small bag of it at this health food store for 30$. BUT Healthy Planet sells about 1.5x more for 20$.

There are some smaller health stores that give good prices on some items but most of them mark up everything 😕

Eating healthy shouldn’t be expensive but like they’re profiting so they mark everything up. Most things it’s ok to get the cheaper or off brand product. Sometimes its not though for things like essential oils. But honestly off brand is better than nothing!
