**Side Note… if you’re one of my players…… don’t read this!**
I, for instance, feel I need to have some sort of big bad or some overarching plot that my players can discover at any time.
Next month, I’m running a campaign with 3 players and the setting is based off of the 1950s. The players are enrolled in an adventuring school. And while for the first two or three sessions, I want their teachers to give them small missions to accomplish, I eventually want them to uncover a huge (and dangerous) secret (like the teachers are all apart of the cult of the big bad or something else I dunno yet).
What I’m curious about is… are other DMs this way? Do you feel the need to create a big bad that your players will one day face? Or do you let things unfold and form ideas based off your players first few sessions?
