Hello again, before starting this blog again I invite you to pray before you start, prepare your hearts, get away from the possible distractions, may God prepare your hearts to receive your word and may be able to respond to your will with actions so that it is not a dead faith, pray also for me, I also need to concentrate and I need God to give me wisdom so that it is his words that he is about to read and not mine.
‘He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. ’ 1 John 2:4-6

Last week I went to a friend’s house, her great grandmother was at home, she was an older woman, when I entered the house she greeted me along with other people, they invited me to move to another side of the house, leaving, one of my friends were raising a somewhat interesting conversation, she was asking her great grandmother if she gave him one of her rings, I was not close enough to listen well, but she with a slight tone of scolding told her constantly not while that my friend insisted that I give her one. End of the story: no, he didn’t give anything. We went to buy something and on the way, they told me that their grandmother does not give her rings because they are gifts from different people, it is the greatest and perhaps only way in which you can show affection to her great grandmother, giving her things, it is a somewhat story Interestingly, I had never heard someone do that.

On the other hand, I have friends who have a partner, normally, when they fight with their boyfriend or girlfriend, it is because the other person did not give him something on a special date or did not remember his birthday or normally expected something from the other person and did not happen, disappointments that They end up in fights.
What I want to get to is that there are different types of love and therefore different ways of demonstrating it and in these verses of 1 John 2 we can see one of them, AGAPE, maybe some have already heard this word and feel cool right now, maybe Someone has no idea what I am talking about, others probably turned to their bibles and tried to find out where this strange word appears, we still don’t get to that part, so relax because we have little left to understand why I leave you with that word now.
Last week we managed to see what it means to know the truth or rather how we show that we do not know the truth, not keeping his commandments, not bearing fruit, not being light, not being different are signs that we do not know the truth.
“He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. “

“BUT” after knowing what it means to not know the truth, after knowing those characteristics, then knowing whether or not you have fruit, after that, it makes a change of subject apparently, now you are talking about the characteristics of those who are in the.

’ If ye love me, keep my commandments. ’ (John 14:15)

The best way to show that we love our Lord is by obeying his commandments because his desires will be ours because for our love to be visible his will must be reflected in our actions, it cannot be one without another, we cannot obey without a heart or a heart without obeying, in this way we cannot glorify God

’ This people draweth nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips; but their heart is far from me. ’(Matthew 15:8)

It is impossible to worship the Lord with a dead faith that does not shine that does not reflect him and his nature, but it is even worse to be hypocrites, the vast majority of us know that Jesus always confronted the Pharisees and the word with which he describes them In the King James Bible it is “hypocrites” (Matthew 6, Matthew 15: 7, Matthew 16: 3, Matthew 22:18, Matthew 23) people who are not consistent, who pretend virtues or emotions that they do not have, in the case of the Pharisees, it was mostly humility, they were not humble in their hearts, they obeyed but never did it for the one who deserves glory, but for themselves, because they sought the approval of men; unfortunately we can fall into that same sin, we can be hypocrites, we can have a feigned love, we can simply obey but not for our love for him, but desire for recognition, the Pharisees did not give alms because they loved their neighbor, but because they loved themselves excessively, they wanted recognition, they didn’t feel love for God or the brothers;

'Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the glass and the plate, so that the outside is also clean. ’(S. Matthew 23:26)

The inside is a priority, the external will naturally come out, lately, I have been reading at the same time as other young people in my church made, on one occasion I read in fact parts in which Paul demonstrates his love for his brothers and I do not mean he spoke with them and he told them that he loved them but sometimes he talks about Paul praying with his brothers, hugging them, crying with them, comforting himself, among other things and that is because when the inside is clean the outside too, when commonly or in our heart We love God, that love is reflected in obedience and love to the brothers. In the cases we have had with the youth of my church we have studied about having true communion with God, which is very good but having communion with the brothers is also important

'When a man’s ways please the Lord , he maketh even his enemies to be at peace with him. ’(Proverbs 16:7)

When we truly love the Lord, our ways become straight for God and in this way we obey his commandments when he says in Matthew 5: 38-48, that we should love our enemies, that we have to love our neighbor, when we love God we will obey his commandments it must come naturally from us, it must be our desire to show the brothers that we love them, sometimes it is difficult to show love to the brothers, to those who are not believers, to our enemies, sometimes it will not be easy, this is not a change overnight, but it is something that we when we are true children of God, must have

'But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law. ’(Galatians 5:22-23)

AGAPE, is a love that by definition is a love that is made without expecting anything in return, unconditional that seeks only the welfare of the loved one, this love was what Jesus gave us on his cross, an unconditional love, even when he was despised for those he had helped, even when Peter denied it, even at the times when he was under the punishment of God’s wrath by sinful and miserable people like us when for giving unconditional love for his elect he was insulted Ashamed and wounded, he gave love and received hatred, he could simply let us be punished and leave us dead in our sins, in any case, his justice is fulfilled, but he did not let us die, but he chose to love us and intercede for us, he chose to be our way to the father, he chose to be our way to a true communion with him and he intercedes and apologizes to the father in favor of those who made fun of him

'Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots. ’(Luke 23:34)

Even when he knew that they would be guilty of his death, he intercedes for them, literally Jesus prayed for the forgiveness of his murderers. If we are Christians we have the fruit of the spirit and this is also composed of love, a love equal to that Jesus had with us and with those who repudiated him, in the verse of Galatians, the first aspect that is mentioned that this fruit has is the love, the beauty of this is that it is the fruit of the spirit, it is a love that only and exclusively of the believer

'But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. ’(1 Corinthians 2:14-15)

The natural man does not understand or be part of the spiritual things there is no way he can understand a love in this way, this is a difficult love to give, but now, if we are believers we can give it without measure, an unconditional love, no It matters whether that person treats me well or not, it will simply become increasingly natural to love them, as in the previous blog, it is a resistance race, we have to shed what makes it difficult for us to run the race that has been given to us.

'But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked. ’(1 John 2:5-6)

Loving brothers is not always easy, loving those who are external to us is not easy, but now that we know that we are new creatures, our way of life changes and that includes our way of loving, we have not been drifting without direction without having any idea about how to love people, but that, we have been given a perfect and glorious example to which we must point within ourselves, to Jesus who became man for us, who suffered, was tempted, persecuted, lived a difficult lifestyle, but still, even knowing that Judas was going to betray him, even knowing that Peter was going to deny him and that Thomas was not going to believe until he saw his hands with marks, he knew everything they were about to do He washed each and every one of his feet, showed his love to them and to us; We must show our love to him, love God leads us to obey his commandments, obey his commandments leads us to love our neighbor, this must be like a fruit, that our love of God is perfected, I recognize that there are people who do not They find it easy to show love to those around them, I am one of those people, but to show love is necessary to be easy to see, why would you cover your light before them? Why would you deprive them of unconditional love?

When you love someone in this way you are looking for the best for that person with you express that agape love, we were chosen to be children of God and now we are sent to spread the gospel message, why would you not tell him the best news in the world with someone you love without condition?

To conclude with the reflection, again I invite you to conclude with a prayer of response to the message, praise and thank God for sending his son in propitiation of our sins, ask for you to show your love, maybe love your enemies is difficult for you, pray for people who are difficult or for those who hurt you, worship God for his infinite love that he gives us continually, pray for me, I also need to work on my love for others.

Yesterday’s blog I upload today, I’m sorry, probably next week we will have an extra blog on Monday, God willing, I’m going back to classes, so I’m going to need to move my schedules, the blog probably won’t be uploaded on Thursdays but that It depends.

If you have any questions, the question space is open, if you need me to pray for you for something special, you can also use that space to write your requests. See you soon, God bless you.

truth of salvation

There is more to the Christian life than going to church or being a good person.  Realize that our salvation is totally based on what Jesus did for us.  We cannot work our way in to heaven or do anything good enough to qualify for salvation.

Jesus is the one given for our salvation.  It was his sacrifice and the love of God that continues to do what only God can do.  Take that in.  Remember it.  Share it with others often.

Here is a simply reminder.  Read on.

John 3:14-17  NLT

And as Moses lifted up the bronze snake on a pole in the wilderness, so the Son of Man must be lifted up, 15 so that everyone who believes in him will have eternal life.  16 “For this is how God loved the world: He gave his one and only Son, so that everyone who believes in him will not perish but have eternal life. 17 God sent his Son into the world not to judge the world, but to save the world through him.

We have heard those for a long time, if we have been in church.  Might have even seen some of those verses on billboards or little cards being handed out somewhere.  You might have seen John 3:16 painted on a guys chest at some football game where it was freezing.

Point is… the Gospel is still the truth and how people receive salvation and promise of eternity with God.

This is worth sharing those who need because we sure are blessed to be saved by God’s grace!

Galatians 2:8-9  NLT

God saved you by his grace when you believed. And you can’t take credit for this; it is a gift from God. 9 Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it.

I need those reminders.  Let’s tell others!

anonymous asked:

What do you do if every time you bring up God in a conversation someone changes the subject?

Hey dear friend, I would say: Let them. Be kind and let them.

That doesn’t mean you never talk about your faith around that person. But my guess is that 1) the topic of God is painful for that person, 2) the topic of God is repulsive for that person, 3) it is not entirely relevant for that person, or 4) I say this with much love, but maybe the manner in which faith is brought up has not been gentle or understanding.

You cannot force someone to talk about something they don’t want to. I’m not saying you’re doing that. But if they’re changing the subject and your goal is to “bring them back to God” all the time, you’re coercing that person into a subject that they obviously don’t want to discuss.

A Christian’s goal is never to transmit information until another person is persuaded. That’s a very westernized way of evangelism. It assumes that a “threshold of theological knowledge” is what makes a Christian. Modern church evangelism is a memorized checklist of systematic facts, and it seems that once you can recite those facts, this must mean you’re close to God. This, of course, is not true.

If you want someone to know about your faith: we must simply live into our faith. To just be. And be curious about the other person. I bet there is a reason this person avoids any talk about God. Why not get to know them? And why not discover within yourself: what is your goal? Agenda? Motive? Did you assume this person is avoiding faith discussions? Or is there something in you that pushed too hard, assumed it must be their issue, when it could be yours? And really: can you still love this person even if they never open up about their faith with you, ever?

I’m sorry I’m being a little hard here. I have experienced too much aggression from those who think they’re just “passionate, outspoken, bold for truth,” when really they were being obnoxious and socially tone-deaf. Of course, it’s good to be open about your faith. Talk about it, sure. But we must enter with a gentleness that leaves room for discomfort, disagreement, dialogue, or even total avoidance. And in the end, you may be just one rung of the ladder in this conversation. You may not be the one who gets to talk faith with that person; it might be someone else. Certainly you want to be a rung in that ladder, and not an obstacle.

The Rich Young Ruler

17 As He was setting out on a journey, a man ran up to Him and knelt before Him, and asked Him, “Good Teacher, what shall I do to inherit eternal life?” 18 And Jesus said to him, “Why do you call Me good? No one is good except God alone. 19 You know the commandments, ‘Do not murder, Do not commit adultery, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Do not defraud, Honor your father and mother.’” 20 And he said to Him, “Teacher, I have kept all these things from my youth up.” 21 Looking at him, Jesus felt a love for him and said to him, “One thing you lack: go and sell all you possess and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and come, follow Me.” 22 But at these words he was saddened, and he went away grieving, for he was one who owned much property.

23 And Jesus, looking around, said to His disciples, “How hard it will be for those who are wealthy to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 The disciples were amazed at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.” 26 They were even more astonished and said to Him, “Then who can be saved?” 27 Looking at them, Jesus said, “With people it is impossible, but not with God; for all things are possible with God.”

28 Peter began to say to Him, “Behold, we have left everything and followed You.” 29 Jesus said, “Truly I say to you, there is no one who has left house or brothers or sisters or mother or father or children or farms, for My sake and for the gospel’s sake, 30 but that he will receive a hundred times as much now in the present age, houses and brothers and sisters and mothers and children and farms, along with persecutions; and in the age to come, eternal life. 31 But many who are first will be last, and the last, first.”

10 Favorite Lines:

  • Biblical evangelism always proclaims the Law to the proud, but grace to the humble.

  • Nothing reveals Calvary like Sinai. Nothing exalts unconditional mercy like fierce and holy wrath.

  • The Bible consistently defines the love of God toward sinners in two words: the Cross …God expresses His love toward the saved believer by offering daily comfort, joy, inner peace, patience, self-control, and a safe harbor in times of trouble… Look in your Bible to find any instance of Jesus, an apostle, or a prophet offering an unrepentant sinner any form of God’s love other than Jesus’ blood on the Cross.

  • God is not obligated to give us mercy. He is only obligated by His own righteousness to give us justice. …Our punishment is deserved. Mercy is mercy because it is undeserved.

  • …we should not prescribe the cure before we have convinced the sinner of the disease.

  • …the thought that he’s going to Hell, without the use of the Law to justify that fact, is unreasonable to a sinner’s mind.

  • It is this simple: you broke the Law and Jesus paid your fine.

  • If we really believed that unregenerate souls were going to Hell, we would preach with overwhelming passion.

  • To lift our hands in adoration to God, yet refuse to reach out our hands in evangelism for God, is nothing but empty hypocrisy.

  • …it is the wrath of the Law that makes us appreciate mercy.

King Saul with David is a great Bible example of this proverb. No doubt many times David ate at Saul’s table but Saul grew very jealous of David and wanted to kill him. See 1 Samuel 18:8-12 & 20:1-33.
