I have something to say, or more accurately, repeat: People in customer service are still people.
You don’t get to treat them like dirt.
You don’t get to come after them for taking a few minutes to drink. Especially when it’s hot as the Devil’s bottom outside. They are doing their best to get you your drinks, but they will not get to you faster if they faint from dehydration.
And you most definitely do not get to comment on their appearance. Being a waitress or any other customer service employee is not a reason for you to comment on how much prettier the person would be if they wore a different top or walked straighter.
Can you imagine how disgusting it feels when someone tells you that you’re very beautiful but you’d be that much more beautiful if you walked more upright? Imagine someone far from your age tells you this. Someone who is stronger than you. Someone you can feel watching you while you work. Someone who repeatedly disrupts your work.
I am here to work. I enjoy this job. I am not here to be beautiful. I am not here for you to stare at. I am not ‘eye candy’. I am here to work.
