#Devember 2019 - Contract

I, Gianluca Alloisio aka theGiallo, will participate to the next Devember. My Devember will be creating a loop audio pedal. I promise I will program for my Devember for at least an hour, every day of the next December. I may have to skip a few days, but I’ll make up for them. I will also write a daily public devlog and will make the produced code publicly available on the internet, here on this tumblr. No matter what, I will keep my promise.

I’ll be using a Raspberry Pi Zero to run the code. I’ll try to use an ADC and an DAC via SPI. In case of failure I’ll try with a  USB audio card and JACK. The basic objective is to obtain a looped track, the recording of which activated via buttons.

Possible bonuses are:

  1. multiple tracks with multiple buttons
  2. adding a new track mixed with the current one, keeping only the mixed one
  3. LEDs to show the track looping percentage
  4. knobs for tracks individual volume
  5. knob to choose which track to work with, in this case control buttons are not replicated for each track
  6. implement reverb effect on played tracks
  7. implement reverb effect live
  8. implement delay effect live
  9. add knob to shift tracks in time
  10. change tracks speed
  11. change tracks pitch/time via granular synthesis
  12. implement other effects live or on played tracks
  13. add a small display (this I’ll probably do after devember, because of shipping times, since I don’t currently own one)

Oh, I’ll be coding in C++, with my usual ++C style.

A friend will assist me. He is an audio guy and an electronic engineer.

I’ll host my code on my bitbucket, publicly.

I’m still learning a lot on my lunch breaks and in-between classes. Working full-time and getting my class work done has been making time for learning SDL a bit harder. I’m still plugging through my textbook and LazyFoo’s tutorials but I’m still making an effort to make time for my personal projects. I have so far to go and I’m excited to put in the work and get there.

Thank you for the heads up! To prevent further harassment from @/cpp and any accounts affiliated with her, I decided to take down the post about @/cutesystickers, not giving her just another stage to perform on.

There’re already a couple of posts surrounding the issue and I would suggest anyone reading this to go and check if you have all of her accounts blocked and reported.

why is this so hard

if you were looking for an update… it is now 4 hours later. and i planned the whole trip almost. only to find out my cpp is shit…. i thought 1 was basic and 1.5 was great. but it turns out there’s like 3′s and 5′s out there….. should i just call it? at least i’m not cashing it out for gift cards? lol…..

edit: OMG WAIT. THAT’S FAKE!!! those were doubled!!!! idk why… maybe companion pass? BUT THOSE ARE FAKE 3′s!!!! and those 5′s were from internet articles so who knows if they’re even real. so those cpp are actually 1.5-1.6! which is what i have!!! 

hm. but maybe you only did the 1.5-1.6 cause of companion pass. it’s like… when you buy the more expensive item cause the cheaper item has hella shipping… so maybe you wouldn’t have ever been ok with 1.5-1.6 unless you had cp… god i need help… i just need to know if this is ok…
