Jammin’ at Key West at Nikki Beach and Resort

If you haven’t already you guys need to head down to Key West Restaurant at the Nikki Beach Hotel Dubai.

It is a beautiful restaurant nestled right by the beach, and I tell you as soon as you enter it’s like you’re transported to another space and location! We could have been in Miami. The restaurant literally looks out onto the beach and the palm trees were so dreamy, the weather was great that day but we decided against sitting outside because it was pretty windy. We did, however, get a table that was close to the door as we could dine and feast our eyes on the view!

You can get the starters as a platter. Lucky for us that we tried Aciote fish tacos - 3 delicious tacos made with sea bass, coleslaw and my favourite fruit mangoes <3; BBQ chicken wings - crispy and sweet on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside; stuffed jalapeños to name a few. You can purchase the bites separately and build a platter, 3 for just 100AED or 6 for 195AED.

All amazing to the taste. If I had to pick something I would choose the BBQ wings. If you don’t like spice stay away from the stuffed Jalapeños!

Everything was finger licking good. When I close my eyes now I can remember the smell of their “mamas bowls” - traditional dishes made from the recipes of the @keywestdubai’s kitchen staffers’ families, giving the menu a personal touch.

Chicken Curry - Creamy in texture, the curry sauce was delicious, it was paired with some peppers and avocado! Served with some white rice and plantains, believe it or not, everything just worked together!

Jerk Chicken - Yessss, I’ve not really enjoyed Caribbean food in Dubai…either it’s tasteless, too watery…this Jerk chicken I could swear I was at my best friend Georgette’s house. Her mum’s cooking is amazing, and this Jerk Chicken is so close to it.  The sauce is sweet and smoky just the right combination, the chicken was succulent. A big win!

We tried the Key Lime tart and the Petin Banana. The Key Lime tasted extttrrrreemely tangy and citrusy but I loved it, I had green tea to cut that sweet taste.

When we finished our meals I wanted to sleep right there and then! Definitely one of my favourite restaurants in Dubai, I was not disappointed one bit! I will be bringing my friends here from now on.
It is on the pricey side with our total bill coming up to around 500AED, but from the experience alone it is fully worth it!
