I’ve heard, on good authority, that this is the preferred shape for a flour scoop. Hand carved from a birch and available in my store here.

A large portion of our prefest course with Fritiof Runhall focussed on using bent branches which can increase strength as the shape of the spoon follows the grain in the branch. In many cases spoon carvers will look for branches with a distinct angle in them which serves as the angle between handle and bowl. However, Fritiof encouraged us to look for the spoons in branches I would have previously otherwise discarded. This scoop was one example coming from a what at first looked like a horrible wobbly, twisted limb.

Feature Walls -

We are seeing and hearing a lot more about the use of “feature walls” throughout the industry. So off we went and had a discussion with our beautiful friends down at Haymes Paint.

Our rep quickly jumped in the car and came down with some amazing samples of their newest range the ‘Artisan Collection’, and boy did we fall in love.

So much so, we’ve decided to paint some walls in the new showroom in a few of the different finishes available.

Are you excited to see the new range? Will you be including a feature wall in your next build?

We will be writing a BLOG post covering the use of feature walls and providing some inspo. Head to our BLOG page on our website to keep up to date with new products, handy hints and all things building related.
