Maybe you see me

maybe you don’t

maybe you’ll see me

maybe you won’t

but we both are unknown

and we come to be known

curating these pieces like food

for some strays that are nourished

with love

Environment versus Genetics

You read American Psycho

You watch it too

then you start feeling like

anything can be the straw that breaks

the camels back

then you want to be creative and make things

and the environment is always distribution

and sales

and you recognize that unfeeling brains

they’re human too

and the inhumane manner life subjects

our minds then stokes the way we cope

to escape is one thing

but everyone can tap to the unfeeling

psychopathy that makes a killer stew

and that kind of brew plays itself out

in the myriad of anger where a beer

or a toke no longer lays still rage

and its urges, unccontainable strikes at

what people have made you unfeel

“I have moved so far away from you that I have become a myth; a lie you tell yourself each night. I am the one true thing you’ve held in the palm of your hand. Your name smiles at me from a crumpled envelope, addressed to the past, unsent and unseen. Inside there is a letter where I tell you a story about the moon, how night after night the darkness carved at the pale curve of her body until she became half the woman she was. There is a word that hurts my heart — one I don’t ever say out loud. Like the shadow that lingers in the light, I can’t separate myself from your memory. But there are some nights when I look up into the sky, and the moon is whole again.”

Sorry I’ve been on hiatus. Slowly going to upload my newest drawings :) missed you guys.

Moleskine sketch #22: “If you’re reading this, if there’s air in your lungs on this November day, then there is still hope for you. Your story is still going. And maybe some things are true for all of us. Perhaps we all relate to pain. Perhaps we all relate to fear and loss and questions. And perhaps we all deserve to be honest, all deserve whatever help we need. Our stories are all so many things: Heavy and light. Beautiful and difficult. Hopeful and uncertain. But our stories aren’t finished yet. There is still time, for things to heal and change and grow. There is still time to be surprised. We are still going, you and I. We are stories still going.”
